Roland Octapad SPD-30 Percussion Controller Demo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itj7uPCWRD4&feature=youtu.be

20 years ago rolling introduced a berry Revolution revolutionary new product called The Octopus and it really did was great for for drummers in and really anybody to be able to control devices by using drumsticks well that legendary name lives on with a new octapad spd-30 a little bit different though because we have over 600 sounds built-in there's 50 patches and 3/30 different multi-effects know that but there's also great features that are geared specifically towards live performance reviews the v-drums triggering technology in the SPD 30 and like Goldilocks and the Three Bears none like this one's just right here see the Patsy of complete isolation between the pads you can see the gaps between the pads and that means there's no crosstalk they're going to happen on the path the path also pizza from from a trigger point trigger grade put a trick of 4 evenly across the entire Pat it doesn't stop triggering when you get over in the corner is it triggers all the way down to the corner and just like the drugs are known for very expressive in Dynamic sounds to go along with that as well as the CDs lines right here these are pad indicator lights who you're really helpful in low-light situations when you're playing a gig and you can't find where your pads are in your own you're doing the Helen Keller thing over here trying to figure out the words that right upper right pad changing hid it okay now you got pad indicator lights in a white up so you see exactly where your pads are just very helpful but also the display there's a lot of feedback on that large display want two things I like the best is that even the display you can see that we can you see with a pasrr because the pad illumination lights you can see what sound is on which pad so it's not like is that the little finger symbol or is that the Thunder crash that I'm going to hit there's no guessing when it comes that's what's really fantastic everybody and everything you know don't worry it'll take a couple good strike from a drumstick cell the thing is roadworthy and very durable is really great things about about the spd-30 moving towards the back you'll know if we have for dual trigger inputs was a hi-hat controller input so I can do things just like this row I've got high had to kick drum corps psych expand it to more pad snare pad Hyatt add ride cymbal I can be doing that what the sp3 is also good for besides a little mini kit as I can add it to my electronic drum set to expand my electronic drum set and I'd only with having eat more pads but all these other dual trigger input dad even more pads around it nose also makes for a great addition to an acoustic set laundromat 1 add some electronic percussion there acoustic set this is a perfect fit for them and you can use those for dual trigger triplets to either add more pads run your set or we also use them to trigger acoustic drums using RT series acoustic drum triggers so pretty cool feature with that one if you go look at farther to the left on here there's a USB audio USB midi and USB memory now the USB midi is perfect because if you want to take your spd-30 trigger more sounds you got some other samples or you want to trigger Loops or do live performance anything you would look up using your baw you can control with the spd-30 even for example even like the knobs and everything will control like literally had like Ableton Live or something even a control knobs will do things in real time that's really a great controller peace as far as that's concerned but I like to do now I'll just play some of the right sounds highlight control panel work even he'll splash pretty cool huh that does marching cells are kick but man a really good stuff it you got a lot of orchestral soon as I can a wife or just like the sb-220 but we're taking it further get a lot of the same basic right sounds end up the sound quality and even the Arctic the acoustic percussion the world percussion tell you there's sounds in here that I be a lot of sample libraries see some very unique Schnauzer in here even using your hands with a cone see that deal with that now you're also use that has mute groups so if the bass drum pedal on when he was just a mute cut this is a great one I know you guys have done this it's one or two later bars close here in Fort Wayne maybe 4 in the afternoon I don't know whatever this is what I know so you've done this man it's like happy hour and it's Friday and whatever and pretty soon you realize you get off the Barstool it's time to leave whatever you hear the clock you feel you think I'm feeling you guys know how it is it's a terrible feeling isn't it I don't know what that's like but anyways I've heard it's something like that gotcha Bob do you get the idea of with some of the different sounds it again there's more sounds than air but that's not all the time that I had a lot of for doing that there's one other great feature that's in the SPD 30 that is what's called our phrase Loop and what it loves you to do is it's great for Real Time Performance allows you to do is record up the 3 Parts can like sound on sound record the 3 parts and you can actually save them as a phrase that can use it for real time for words like I'm going to do work and you can build a phrase and take it and then save it in the memory bank and save it off to your thumb drive whatever you want to do it a whole lot to 50 phrases and then you can figure those phrases whenever you want to Again lyrics recording or live performance real quick and easy this thing is it's really a lot of fun David Tennant off 1234 get the idea DSP 30 it's a great piece
